Microsoft Sponsors Perceptual Informatics to Participate in AI For Good Summit
ASHEVILLE, NC (September 23, 2019) - Perceptual Informatics has been sponsored by Microsoft to attend the 2019 'AI for Good' Summit held at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, Washington. Co-founders Ted Bradley and Bjorn Brooks will participate in the week-long event, which will cover the latest in machine learning technologies. The team will join a select group of experts in environmental science, technology, and AI from leading universities, environmental firms, and non-profit organizations.
The Perceptual Informatics team will have the opportunity to present their latest research, which identifies key geographical risks and opportunities within the agricultural sector. Leveraging peer-reviewed data models and satellite imagery, the team will showcase visual, interactive tools that enable agribusinesses to mitigate risk at a micro-market level. Their research will aim to produce leading agribusiness models for domestic use and in developing countries such as India.
Bradley and Brooks will work side-by-side Microsoft engineers and data scientists during the summit to operationalize their AI models into consumable APIs. The services will allow users to predict extreme weather, crop production, and economic information at a county-level and will serve as a catalyst for identifying national and global opportunities.
